Saltus has highlighted the Advanced Placement examination results of its latest graduates.

The internationally recognised AP programme offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students, leading to potentially placement and course credit at universities worldwide.

For 2022-23, 70 Saltus students took a total of 164 AP exams.

Seventy-one per cent of the students who took an exam scored a 3 or higher, with 5 being the highest possible score.

A score of 3 is the standard acceptance level as a subject credit in North American universities.

The college board recognised 17 Saltus students for outstanding results:

• AP Scholar is awarded to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

Seven students earned this designation: Jonah Faria; Amar Patton (Florida Atlantic University); Morgan Phillips (West Chester University); Lara Pitcher (Keane University); Joanna Santiago (University of Plymouth); Kyra Vieira (Nottingham Trent University) and Chloe Bennett (Saltus SGY2)

• AP Scholar with Honours designation is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more AP exams.

Two students were awarded this designation: Will Ashton (University of Vermont) and Jessica Bucher (Liberty University)

• AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Eight students earned this designation: Kyra Adams (University of Vermont); Simas Babeckas (University of British Columbia); Jack Dallas (University of Bath); Christopher Davidson (University of Southampton); Sebastian Grob (Semmelweiss University); William Hulst (Tufts University); Tamara Leach (Durham University); and Magnus Ringsted (Loughborough University).

Saltus 2023 graduates, Tamara Leach and Christopher Davidson were also awarded the AP International Diploma.

This is the top award from the college board, for which students must score 3 or higher on five or more AP exams.

These must include an AP English exam, an AP world language exam, an AP offering a global perspective, an exam from either the sciences or maths and computer science curriculum, and at least one additional exam.

Julie Rousseau, head of school, said: “These accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of both the students and the educators at Saltus in preparing students for success in their Advanced Placement exams and in their postsecondary journey.

“Congratulations to all of our students on their achievements.”
