Milaun Perott and Ryley Tannock, former recipients of the Appleby Legal Education Scholarship, have each begun a two-year legal trainee programme at the firm.

The firm said pupils receive training across its corporate, dispute resolution and private client & trusts departments involving three four-month seats in the first year and one 12-month seat in the second year.

They are assigned a senior attorney as a mentor as they rotate seats. After completing three seats in the first year, trainees are called to the Bermuda Bar.

Ms Perott, who received the scholarship in 2021, interned with the firm in 2021 and 2022 within the private client & trusts, and dispute resolution teams, respectively.

She completed the graduate diploma of law and the legal practice course with Master of Law in professional legal practice at The University of Law.

Prior to that, Ms Perott obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University, majoring in law and business with a minor in economics.

Mr Tannock, who interned with the firm in 2022 in the private client & trusts team, was a scholarship recipient that year. He holds an LPC and a GDL from The University of Law.

Prior to that, Mr Tannock obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University with a double major in criminology and psychology.

Brad Adderley, Bermuda managing partner, said: “We are pleased to welcome Milaun and Ryley to our trainee programme, which has provided a first-class foundation for many lawyers in Bermuda, including myself more than 25 years ago, and other Appleby partners as well.

“I know Milaun and Ryley will be well equipped for success with the expert and focused mentorship they will receive. I wish them both fulfilment in their legal careers.”
