Charities invited to apply for End-to-End funding

Organisers of an island-wide event that raises money to help address community needs invited charity leaders to apply this month for funding.

The 2024 Convex End-to-End will distribute proceeds to four charitable programmes.

Applications must be submitted electronically by 5pm on October 31.

A spokeswoman said: “The focus of the End-to-End remains steadfast on addressing the pressing needs of the Bermuda community.

“The proceeds generated from the 2024 End-to-End event will be dedicated to funding nonsectarian charitable programmes in Bermuda, as well as supporting operational expenses that contribute to the preservation and improvement of the Bermuda Railway Trail, the Bermuda community and families.”

She added that all applicants must make sure that they are in compliance with regulations outlined in the Charities Act 2014 and adhere to industry standards.

Walkers, cyclists and rowers will come together for the 37th annual End-to-End on April 27 next year, when they will follow a route across the island from the Town of St George to Dockyard.

Anne Mello, the event’s board chairwoman, highlighted that the organisation continued to look for charities that worked to support wellbeing.

She said: "We are dedicated to identifying charitable initiatives that contribute to the vitality of our community.

“Additionally, the Bermuda End-to-End takes pride in its role as a steward of the Bermuda Railway Trail, the home of our event, and we remain dedicated to enhancing and maintaining this vital island passage."

This year, the event shared $215,000 among five charities: the Bermuda Zoological Society, The Eliza DoLittle Society, Vision Bermuda, Gina Spence Productions and the Skills Development Programme.

The spokeswoman added: “For the 2024 End-to-End event, four deserving charities will be selected as beneficiaries.”

To apply for funding, charities are encouraged to read the grant application on the End-to-End website at bermudaendtoend.bm. Proposals can be submitted to bermudaendtoendrfp@gmail.com by 5pm on October 31. For any questions, call 292-6992
