Tech troubles plague Butterfield systems

Bank of NT Butterfield reported in an X message and on its website that some customers were having problems with the settlement of transactions made using debit cards.

“We are pleased to report the issue with debit card settlements has been fixed for the vast majority of accounts impacted, and we are working to correct the few outstanding. If you still see an issue with your account and you require access to blocked funds immediately, please contact the call centre,” the banks said on its website.

In an early message on the social media outlet X, formerly known as Twitter, the bank said that customers do not have to contact the call centre to report problems.

Later in another message, the bank said people who need to access blocked funds should contact the call centre.

Earlier this year, the bank’s IT systems were offline for days after a systems upgrade.
