Willis Towers Watson profit beats estimates

LONDON (AP) — Willis Towers Watson yesterday reported third-quarter earnings of $75 million.

The London-based company said it had net income of 58 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.31 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of ten analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.30 per share.

The advisory, broking and solutions company posted revenue of $1.99 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.98 billion.

Willis Towers Watson shares have increased 25 per cent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 35 per cent in the last 12 months.
