Students get healthy start to the day on National Breakfast Day
The telecommunications company Digicel helped to bring healthy breakfasts to 400 schoolchildren in celebration of National Breakfast Day.
The group partnered with the Coalition for the Protection of Children for the occasion, which underlines the importance of children having a nutritious meal to start the day.
Volunteers from Digicel and the CPC visited 22 public schools and handed out a variety of meals to pupils, all with the help of other volunteers.
Daniela Nandlal, Digicel Bermuda’s marketing manager, said: "At Digicel Bermuda, we believe in supporting the communities we serve.
“We are delighted to partner with the Coalition for the Protection of Children for National Breakfast Day.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to the wellbeing of Bermuda's youth, and we are proud to play a role in fostering a brighter future for them."
Kelly Hunt, the executive director of the CPC, said: "We are grateful to have Digicel's support in our mission to ensure the wellbeing and protection of Bermuda's children.
“National Breakfast Day allows us to highlight the significance of providing children with a healthy breakfast, setting them on a path to success.
“We are excited about the impact this partnership will have on the lives of the children we serve."
