Mount Hill police raid related to Bermy Cuisine shooting

A 29-year-old man was arrested during a raid on a Mount Hill, Pembroke, home on Friday related to a shooting this month.

The Bermuda Police Service said in a statement that at about 2.45pm a firearms warrant was executed at a Mount Hill home as part of an investigation into a firearm incident in the afternoon on October 18 in the area of Park Road, Pembroke.

“A 29-year-old male was arrested at the residence in relation to that matter,” the statement said.

“Several items liable for seizure were recovered during the execution of the warrant.”

Police have said that at about 1pm on October 18 a man on a motorcycle opened fire on two people outside Bermy Cuisine.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect rode off in the direction of Woodlands Road.

Police urged those with information about the shooting to call Detective Inspector Jason Smith on 717-0864 or e-mail jsmith2@bps.bm.

Witnesses can also call Detective Sergeant Anneka Donawa on 717-2250 or e-mail adonawa@bps.bm.

The statement added: “We take this opportunity to again thank those members of the public who have so far come forward to assist with the investigation.

“This has resulted in the development of significant leads, which are being pursued.”
