BUEI wants you to take a gamble on a good cause
Although the island’s casino industry has yet to take off, gamblers will be able to place a bet in the aid of charity this month.
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute will be hosting Chips in, the Ocean Wins casino night fundraiser and silent auction on November 18.
In a statement, the organisation said that the entire BUEI complex will be transformed into “an exciting and glamorous evening where you can indulge in craps, blackjack, roulette, Crown & Anchor and more”.
Gaming tables will be stationed in the upper and lower lobbies, and a high-roller lounge will also be created.
Tickets begin at $175 and include a complimentary welcome cocktail or mocktail, gourmet small plates and hors d'oeuvres served throughout the evening by the Harbourfront Restaurant, shuttle transport and a raffle entry. Music will be provided by DJ Chubb throughout the evening.
There will also be opportunities to bid on several prizes in a silent auction, including golf lessons with Island Games gold medal winner Ebonie Cox and a VIP stay at The Reefs hotel.
The high-roller lounge will host a maximum of 50 people and will have its own private beverage service and food service, a game table and reserved on-site parking.
Those unable to attend can attend the BUEI’s virtual casino, which will be open between 8pm and 9.30pm. A virtual ticket includes 90 minutes of live, hosted game play, one raffle ticket and advance access to the silent auction.
The event is cashless. All beverage and chip purchases are card only.
Tickets can be purchased via P-Tix here, from the BUEI’s gift shop, or by calling 294-0204. For more information, click here.
