Twenty-five hundred shares in Bank of NT Butterfield changed hands on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. The stock closed at $24.60, down $1.90 (7.2 per cent).
Overseas, Butterfield Bank closed up 9 cents (0.36 per cent) at $25.26 on the New York Stock Exchange.
