Leaders North Village and Paget Lions will rest their flawless records on the line when they lock horns in an intriguing top-of-the table Premier Division clash at Southampton Oval tomorrow.

Visitors Village hold a three-point advantage at the summit over their fellow unbeaten rivals, who have a game in hand heading into the exciting match-up pitting the league’s most consistent and in-form teams against each other.

Village coach Kenny Thompson said his players are dialled in and up for the task at hand.

“The match-up is interesting especially as both of us come into the match with a 100 per cent record in the league,” he told The Royal Gazette.

“It’s still early in the championship so this isn’t a title decider. We’re focused and ready.”

Thompson’s opposite number, Antwan Russell, is confident the hosts can come away with the desired outcome and close the gap on the leaders.

“I am very confident that we can achieve the result that we are looking for if we execute our game plan, stick together and do things that got us this far this season,” he said.

“In terms of the title, I don’t think this match will have too much of a say on the title as it’s only our fourth game of the season and their fifth, so it’s still early going and a lot can happen. But I think this will be more of a psychological battle than anything.

“I think we guys match-up well and it’s going to be a good match for the fans to watch.”

Premier Division action begins today with Somerset Trojans hosting a rejuvenated Dandy Town at Somerset Cricket Club at 4pm and champions PHC Zebras at home to Hamilton Parish at PHC Field at 8pm.

Trojans and Parish are still searching for their first win, Town are gunning for a third straight victory while PHC are hoping to get their title defence back on track having been on the wrong end of a 1-0 upset against promoted Young Men’s Social Club in their previous outing.

Ireland Rangers will host Robin Hood at Somerset Cricket Club (2pm) in the sole First Division encounter today.

Tomorrow’s remaining Premier Division fixtures will see Young Men's Social Club host St George’s Colts at Police Field while X-Roads Warriors host Devonshire Cougars at Lord’s, St David’s with both games to start at 2.30pm.

First Division action also continues tomorrow with unbeaten leaders Devonshire Colts hosting Vasco da Gama at Police Field while Southampton Rangers are at home to Wolves at Southampton Oval in another exciting match-up with both games kicking off at 12.30pm.
