The Ministry of Economy and Labour is to host a round-table discussion on Bermuda’s economic development strategy that will air live on Facebook, YouTube and CITV.

The event will take place on Monday at 6pm.

Panellists include David Hart, chief executive of the Bermuda Business Development Agency; Malika Cartwright, director, Department of Workforce Development; and Jaché Adams, chairman, Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

The moderator will be entrepreneur and podcaster Shivani Seth.

“Members of the public will recall that the Government is in the process of executing the Economic Development Strategy 2023-2027, as was announced this summer and repeated in the Throne Speech,” said Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour.

“This document represents the focus of the Government’s effort to strengthen our economy through five strategic priority areas which form the bedrock of Bermuda’s economic development efforts: local and international business expansion and retention; attracting businesses and promoting investments into Bermuda; entrepreneurship and small business development; continued execution of the Economic Recovery Plan; and investing in people.”

Mr Hayward added: “In support of this critical work, I am excited to be joined by this panel of experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will allow the public to gain insight and understanding of how this important document will chart a clear path to guide Bermuda to sustainable economic growth and development.”
