My life has been enriched by Islam
“I, Allah am the best Knower.”– Koran, 2:1
“This is the Book (the Koran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)].” (2:2)
I can testify that on becoming Muslim, I have been truly guided by the Koran. My life has been enriched in ways I cannot explain. I can say without a doubt that I am pleased with Allah, as my God, Islam as my religion and Muhammad (pbuh) as my Messenger.
These last six weeks have been so dark, so sad with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Nothing but death of innocent people with no end in sight. This situation can shake one’s faith however when I observe the faith of the Palestinian people it fuels my faith.
Under such circumstances of uncertainty and catastrophe, the people are still praising Allah and keeping the faith. Their faith surpasses all understanding. May Allah continue to fortify the Palestinian people and make the people looking on, be inspired by the strength of their faith that Allah is with them.
Allah says in the Koran in 2:154:
“And say not of those who are killed in the way of Allah, ‘They are dead.’ Nay, they are living, but you perceive (it) not. (Amazing is the believer, for whatever Allah decrees for him, it is better for him!”
Indeed, Allah is the best knower and the most compassionate.
We can gain the faith of the Palestinians by following their example of never wavering and always believing in Allah, the Most Wise.
Bermuda as we know the struggle continues hence we must pray unceasingly for Allah’s blessings and mercy to keep the faith. We must continue to keep the oppressed in our prayers and speak out against injustices wherever they occur.
May peace reign throughout the Earth.
As salaam alaikum (Peace be unto you)
