Braedon Cooke and Connor Somerville struggle in Dominican Republic
Bermuda have found things tough at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Beach Tour under-23 event in the Dominican Republic.
Braedon Cooke and Connor Somerville, who went into the tournament seeded tenth, are yet to win any matches at the tournament, which started on Tuesday and concludes on Thursday.
The pair lost by identical 2-0 scorelines to St Kitts & Nevis, Cuba and Dominican Republic to finish bottom of the pool and were then forced into a play-off for positions thirteenth to sixteenth.
Cooke and Somerville put up a better display against Aruba, losing narrowly 21-17, 21-19 and will face Anguilla’s Shara Proctor and Trevon Smith on Thursday to determine their final finishing position.
Cooke and Somerville’s struggles on the international stage comes after Brandon Sousa and Benjamin Barnett also found thecompetition tough at a Norceca event in El Salvador.
