Police name teenager killed in multi-vehicle collision
Police have identified the 17-year-old who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday morning as Jeremiah Phillips.
Mr Phillips died after the incident, which took place at about 3.30am on Verdmont Road just south of the junction with Verdmont Valley Drive, Smith’s.
In a statement, the Bermuda Police Service said: “Mr Phillips was riding a motorcycle with a pillion passenger travelling north along Verdmont Road.
“He was negotiating a sweeping left-hand bend when the motorcycle he was riding became involved in a collision with three other motorcycles travelling in the opposite direction.
“His pillion passenger, a 15-year-old male, remains listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“A 19-year-old male who was riding one of the other motorcycles involved in the collision was attended to at hospital for his injuries and discharged.”
Police have started an investigation into the incident, and anyone with information is asked to call Pc Victor Fishington on 717-0836 or e-mail vfishington@bps.bm.

A BPS family liaison officer has been appointed to assist the family of Mr Phillips.
The Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks, said: "It is with deep sadness that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of 17-year-old Jeremiah Phillips, who tragically lost his life in the recent road traffic collision.
“This incident is truly devastating, and our thoughts are with Mr Phillips’s family and friends at this time.
“This loss serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and underscores the crucial need for heightened vigilance on our roads.
“As a community, we must continue to prioritise road-safety measures to prevent such heartbreaking losses.
“The Ministry of National Security stands ready to support and assist Mr Phillips’s family in any way possible."
