Retailers offer deals galore for Black Friday
Push up the mattress and pull out that cash — Black Friday is almost here!
Opening hours are being revealed as late as today, with CellOne announcing this morning that it will be opening tonight at midnight for the full Black Friday sales event. They are one of the first openers, but shortly after rival Digicel, which will open at 9pm tonight.
Also opening at midnight is Arnold’s Discount Warehouse, which is offering 15 percent off from midnight to 8am, then ten percent off from 8am to 9pm, store-wide.
The Phoenix Group revealed on the front of Thursday’s Royal Gazette on a special newspaper wrap, that they are throwing open their doors at 4am, promising “huge deals for everyone” with “major door busters” and “store wide savings” at The Phoenix, Brown & Co, The Annex Toys, P-Tech and Phoenix Kidz.
Brown & Co is offering 40 percent off store-wide from 4am to 5.30am, 30 percent from 5.31am to 8am and 20 percent off from 8.01am to 9am.
The Phoenix is offering 25 percent to 40 percent off household and personal electronic items, as well as chocolates.
And Annex Toys — which in 2012 was a top Black Friday destination — are offering staggered discounts beginning at 40 percent at 4am.
Gibbons Company is opening at 5am, giving 40 percent off all regularly priced merchandise from 5am to 8am, and 30 percent off from 8.01am to 10am.
ESC in Mill Creek opens its doors at 5.30am with prices from 30 percent off for light fixtures, ceiling fans, bathroom heat/vent, and 20 percent off lamps.
AS Cooper and Sons opens at 6am and is advertising that special offers will change every hour from 6am to 8am.
ER Aubrey Jewellers and Luxury for Less are opening at 6am and both will give 65 percent off from 6am to 7am, 55 percent off from 7am to 8am and then 35 percent off from 9am to 9pm.
Grant’s Ladies Boutique opens at 7am with a store-wide sale, along with Touche in the Bermudiana Arcade, which also kicks off at 7am with 40 percent off their entire stock, then tiering down the savings through the course of the morning.
For those heading west after early shopping in Hamilton, Hunt’s opens at 7am for early bird savings. They are offering 20 percent off until 9am, and then 10 percent off until 7pm.
Mystique’s in the Bermudiana Arcade is opening at 7am with staggered savings, beginning at 40 percent off their entire stock, then from 8am to 9am, 30 percent, 9am to noon, 25 percent, and from noon to 5.30pm, 20 percent off.
Daisy’s and Daisy & Mac’s on Queen Street also plan to open at 8am with their ongoing 50 percent discounts throughout the store.
While some shops are not opening early, they are getting into the spirit of the day with special deals and offers. People’s Pharmacy is offering a two day Black Friday special, offering up to 25 percent off selected merchandise. Lusso is not advertising special hours, but they are advertising “A Big Prada Blowout” with up to 75 percent off Prada and Miu Miu shoes, bags and accessories. There’s also a store-wide full-priced shoe special — buy one, get one 50 percent off on Friday and Saturday, as well as 10 percent off all sale items.
Island Cycles is offering AGV helmets for $99, and Froggtoggs rainsuits for $52 on both Friday and Saturday.
Bersalon will give 10 percent off ‘Spa Dollars’ purchased on Black Friday, Anslie’s will be open from 9am with a store-wide sale, Magnum Power Force Gym and the Diet Centre are offering a no initiation fee special, and Sears, which opens at 9am, is giving Black Friday deals all weekend, including Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
BAC and Island Glass are offering special prices as well, with Island Glass promising 20 to 25 percent off.
Gosling’s Wines and Spirits have a Black Friday themed 29 percent off selected items, and will continue that deal through Saturday.
Strands will give 15 percent off any spa or salon service on the day, and also are offering a special gift card offer, where those who spend $100 will receive a 15 percent reward card in return.
Mayne’s Co, Furniture Walk and Argus Sunwear are all giving discounts, while out of town, Flatts Men’s Wear has a 20 percent off store-wide sale from 9.30am onward.
Walker Christopher has special Bermuda beads from $80, designed to fit all major brand bracelets and silver Christmas decorations from $120.
And Jeans Express is offering 10 percent off storewide — with the presentation of their coupon found in today’s Royal Gazette newspaper.
