Breaking News: Police hunt armed robbers

A manhunt was underway today after two men held tourists at gunpoint - beating them up before robbing them.

The American husband and wife were staying at a guest house in the East End - Police are not naming the accommodation - when two men broke in at about 3 a.m. today.

They held the couple at gunpoint before assaulting them - the husband suffered fractured ribs and his wife suffered bruising to her face. Both were treated at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and later released.

The two men then stole cash, jewellery and a digital camera before escaping.

More than a dozen Police are investigating the robbery and will be patrolling guest homes tonight to ensure the two men do not attempt a second assault.
