Dear Sir,
On January 12, I wrote to you about my concern regarding children sent overseas for treatment. The report in your newspaper gave the impression that eight children had been sent overseas for evaluation/treatment out of the care of responsible adults in Bermuda.
I have since then had a very informative conversation with the minister who was interviewed for the article, Tinée Furbert.
She has assured me that no child is sent overseas without the supervision of a qualified adult who is involved in every stage of the case and who is in constant contact with the child and the treatment facility.
I am sorry that this important information was omitted from the letter, so that a wrong impression was given.
