Overseas, Butterfield Bank closed down 43 cents (1.44 per cent) at $29.33 on the New York Stock Exchange.
In a filing with the BSX, LOM Financial Ltd announced that the company purchased a total of 25,000 shares at an average price of $5.48 for cancellation during January.
Also in a filing with the BSX, the Bank of NT Butterfield & Son Ltd advised that during the month of January, it repurchased for cancellation 418,208 common shares at an average price of $30.98 per share.
