Reserve police service seeks new recruits
Residents were invited to put themselves forward to volunteer in the community with the Bermuda Reserve Police.
The recruitment process is open to anyone aged 18 to 57 and will involve written and physical tests as well as a medical assessment.
A statement from the Bermuda Police Service advised applicants that standards for reserve officers were similar to those of the BPS.
It added that “duties performed by reserve police officers are many and varied”.
The statement said: “They are trained in the basics of police work and have the same powers of arrest as career police officers.
“It should also be noted that the Commissioner of Police may deem an applicant ineligible at any stage of the recruitment process.
“An initial commitment of three years’ service is expected of successful reserve police constable candidates.”
