Bermuda winger Justin Donawa has sealed a month-long loan switch to Chorley from Altrincham.

The 27 year-old, who has scored three goals in 14 matches for the Vanarama National League side since joining from league rivals Solihull Moors last summer, has now stepped down a division to join the National League North promotion hopefuls.

“We can announce that Justin Donawa has joined Vanarama National North side Chorley on a short-term loan deal, subject to National League and FA ratification,” Altrincham posted on X. “All the best. Go do your thing.”

Nahki Wells played the entire match but could not prevent Bristol City slipping to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to relegation-threatened QPR in the Sky Bet Championship.

Chances proved to be at a premium in the first half, with Ross McCrorie volleying into the side netting for the home side, who lost forward Sam Bell to injury early on.

QPR broke the deadlock against the run of the play in the 41st minute when Chris Willock drove through midfield before playing it out wide to Lucas Andersen on the right, whose cross was guided into the bottom right corner by Ilias Chair.

After the interval, City goalkeeper Max O'Leary was called into action to deny both Chair and Andersen on separate occasions.

At the other end, City pushed for a route back into the match with a flurry of late efforts, with Sam Field clearing off the line at the death to deny City a dramatic late share of the spoils.

“We never really got going to be honest,” said City head coach Liam Manning to the club’s website.

“The lads are very frustrated and disappointed, as is probably everybody associated with it.

“Nobody intentionally goes out and doesn't perform to the level they want. I thought we ended up playing into their gameplan rather than going out and controlling the way we wanted.”

Kenni Thompson played her part to help Bournemouth reach the Adopt South Hampshire Women’s Senior Cup final after edging Moneyfields on penalties.

The Bermuda forward came on as a second-half substitute as the sides could not be separated in regulation time, playing out a 0-0 draw as the game went to penalties.

Thompson scored her side’s fourth spot kick as Bournemouth went on to prevail 5-3.
