Holders North Village to face Devonshire Cougars in FA Cup semi-final
FA Cup holders North Village have been drawn against Devonshire Cougars in the semi-finals of this year’s competition.
The draw, which was made by the chairman of the BFA Competitions Committee Shannon Burgess at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence, pitted 11-times winners Village against Cougars, who have won the competition on three ocasions.
H Hamilton Parish will take on St George’s in the other semi-final, with the matches scheduled to be played during the week of March 13.
Village kept the defence of their crown on track after coming from behind to beat newly crowned First Division champions Devonshire Colts in the previous round, while Cougars brushed aside top-flight rivals Dandy Town in a 3-1 success to seal their progress.
St George’s produced the notable result of the quarter-finals, dumping out 11-times champions PHC to halt the Premier Division league leaders’ aspirations of a Triple Crown success.
Hamilton Parish avoided a potential upset by brushing aside a gutsy Tuff Dogs outfit in a 3-1 victory to end the Corona League side’s impressive run in the competition.
