The RG/BSX Index closed on Wednesday at 2,246.57, down 106.73 points (4.54 per cent).
Some 1,000 shares in Bank of NT Butterfield Ltd changed hands on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. The stock closed at $30, down $1.99 (6.2 per cent).
Overseas, Butterfield Bank closed up a penny (0.03 per cent) at $29.88 on the New York Stock Exchange.
