Bermuda College to complete search for president this year
The Bermuda College will complete its search for a new president by the start of the school year, Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, told the House on Friday.
Branwen Smith-King has been serving as the interim president of Bermuda College since last July, when Duranda Greene retired from the post.
Dr Greene served as president of the college for 16 years. She was the first woman to hold the post as well as the longest-serving president of the institution.
Mr Rabain told the House that in addition to installing a new president, several initiatives are planned by the college in the months ahead.
He said the college, which was founded in 1974, will hold “yearlong” celebrations for its 50th anniversary.
He said the institution is also working to develop a new strategic plan as the existing plan expires this year.
Infrastructural repairs throughout the campus are also on the cards.
