BTA hails expanded 2024 non-stop flight services to Bermuda
The Bermuda Tourism Authority welcomed the 2024 plan for flight service to Bermuda with “new, extended and returning airlift” across the eastern United States.
This year, travellers can access additional direct flights to LF Wade International Airport that are under three hours from major US cities.
BermudAir is expanding its US footprint in 2024. On March 18 and March 26, the airline will launch flights from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Orlando International Airport, respectively.
Set to take flight from April 4, American Airlines will resume its seasonal service from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to Bermuda for the first time since 2019.
The return of JetBlue’s daily service out of John F Kennedy International Airport will also come in April.
United Airlines is extending its seasonal service from Newark Liberty International Airport — which previously concluded in early September — through October 26.
Jamari Douglas, the BTA’s vice-president of marketing, PR and communications, said: “We are thrilled to work with our airline partners as they introduce the most direct air routes to Bermuda in the past five years.
“Early booking data is showing a further increase in travel to the island this year and we look forward to reaching new markets as well as continuing to welcome back our Bermuda loyalists.
“These flights provide travellers with quick and direct ease of access to Bermuda, offering a myriad of opportunities to come together and celebrate the joys, warmth and beauty that the island has to offer.”
