Anna Van Poucke, global head of Healthcare at KPMG, is to deliver the keynote presentation at the annual meeting and luncheon of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce April 17 at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club.

The chamber said Dr Van Poucke is recognised worldwide for her extensive experience and significant contributions to the healthcare sector.

Her keynote presentation at the KPMG-sponsored event will dive into universal health coverage, exploring its economic benefits for communities and businesses, global best practices, and the road map for sustainable implementation.

Following her talk, she will lead a high-level panel discussion with guests who will share insights and experiences on health system sustainability and innovation: Christy Butler, CEO, National Health Insurance Authority, The Bahamas; Elwood Fox, director of Rehabilitation Services, Bermuda Hospitals Board; and Ricky Braithwaite, CEO, Bermuda Health Council.

Edward Fitzgerald, head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at KPMG, said: "Universal health coverage is not just a goal; it's a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of sustainable development.

“Every country is unique and approaching the challenge of UHC from a different place. As we navigate the complexities of healthcare systems worldwide, it's crucial for Bermuda to understand the economic imperative and societal benefits of embracing UHC.”

Dr Fitzgerald added: “KPMG in Bermuda is honoured to welcome Dr Anna Van Poucke, global head of Healthcare to the island to share insights and lessons learnt from recent global experiences, guiding us towards transformative change."
