Mirrors Programme calls on young artists

Pupils at the island’s primary, middle and senior schools have been asked to apply their talents for the return of an annual student art and digital competition, this year under the theme “Feels Like Home”.

The Mirrors Programme is accepting submissions up until 5pm on June 21 for the eighth annual contest.

Entries should be delivered before then to the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, to be featured in the exhibit between July 5 and 31.

Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, said self expression was a core Mirrors Programme value, with the competition now “a highly anticipated opportunity for our youth to express themselves”.

She said the theme would allow young people to share their visions of “belonging and connection”.

The minister added: “Through art, we look forward to rediscovering the beauty and familiarity of the places we call home."

Entry forms can be found at the Mirrors website.

Mirrors can be contacted at 294-9291 for details.
