The Department of Workforce Development has honoured three men who completed an intensive training programme in appliance repairs.

Eugenio Smith, Cole Durham and Bradley DeSilva completed an eight-week programme facilitated by the department.

They spent five weeks completing an introduction to basic appliance repair course, which gave them foundational knowledge of safety protocols, tools and basic repair techniques.

They then travelled to Madison, Ohio, for three weeks of study at Fred’s Appliance Academy to expand their knowledge and sharpen their skills in the field.

Their time overseas lead to them each receiving three certificates, including a certificate of completion from Fred’s Academy.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Eugenio Smith, Cole Durham and Bradley DeSilva on their achievements. Their dedication and resilience serve as an inspiration to us all.”

He added: “This initiative underscores the government's commitment to providing relevant training and work experience for Bermudian youth, while highlighting the importance of targeted training opportunities in high-demand occupations.”
