Island Boat Club expanding its fleet and operating hours
Island Boat Club is expanding both its fleet and its peak season operating hours.
The fleet now totals six boats, with a seventh to be added soon and an eighth boat due to be secured by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the membership club will now operate until 8pm when sunlight allows.
Owner Jack Bridges said: “Our members can now enjoy evening picnics on the boat and it gives them more opportunities to go out during the week after work.
“We started Island Boat Club at the end of 2020 with the vision of offering all the joys of the boating lifestyle, without the burden of a high initial outlay and the often-unexpected yearly costs that come with boat ownership.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance our membership and the extended operating hours will bring greater value and flexibility to our members.”
The seventh boat, a 24-foot Chapparal, is a premier/fractional level boat that IBC says is perfect for picnics and water sports and is expected to be added to the fleet imminently.
IBC, which says it is the only boat membership in Bermuda that allows its members exclusive use of its fleet, offers three distinct membership packages tailored to individual lifestyles and preferences.
Mr Bridges said: "With our expanding fleet and choice of membership options, we aim to make the boating lifestyle more accessible even for those who don’t have boating experience and need the confidence of an experienced team behind them.
“We take training and safety very seriously and offer complimentary, water safety and boat operation lessons by a qualified captain for all new members.
“Our members are a great mix of locals and ex-pats with a range of boat knowhow.
“Membership is a good opportunity for someone who doesn’t want the commitment and hassle of boat ownership or doesn’t know how long they will be on the island and wants to experience the best of Bermuda by water.”
