City of Hamilton to offer free tours of ‘captivating’ art
The City of Hamilton is to offer free guided art tours this month in celebration of World Art Day.
The walks will be led by Ed Christopher, the City’s town crier, and promised to provide “an immersive journey through the heart of our City, showcasing its rich offerings of art installation and captivating murals”.
They also recognise Vivid, the City of Hamilton’s public art initiative facilitating new installations that connect visitors and the local community to Bermuda art and culture.
A spokeswoman for the City of Hamilton said: “In the spirit of artistic celebration and recognition of the expanding cultural landscape with Vivid, we wanted to curate a special experience for both residents and tourists.
“We invite everyone to join us and discover the colourful art pieces that adorn our city streets.”
The hour-long tours run from April 15 — World Art Day — to April 19, starting at City Hall at 10.30am.
The City spokeswoman added: “This guided tour offers an exclusive glimpse into Bermuda’s thriving arts and culture, substituting Ed’s regular tours for the entire celebratory week.
“While there are 22 Vivid art installations throughout the city, this curated tour focuses on the more central pieces, ensuring an enriching experience within a convenient time frame of approximately an hour.”
Attendees will be given a map for future explorations and will be treated to a “special surprise”.
