Nahki Wells scores twice as Bristol City thrash Blackburn
Nahki Wells scored twice as Bristol City thrashed Blackburn Rovers 5-0 on Wednesday night.
Wells, who started the game as a substitute, replaced Tommy Conway in the 71st minute and was on the scoresheet just seven minutes later when scoring from the penalty spot.
He added his second in the sixth minute of additional time to round off the huge win against relegation-threatened Rovers.
The Bermudian forward’s sixth and seventh goals of the season has helped to propel City to twelfth in the Sky Bet Championship and is the biggest win since coach Liam Manning arrived at the club in November last year.
Before Wells’s late strikes, City had gone in at half-time 2-0 up thanks to two goals from Tommy Conway, one from the penalty spot. Anis Mehmeti extended the lead in the 73rd minute.
