Gilbert and Sullivan Society looking for singing stars
The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Bermuda has put out a casting call for its next musical production, with singers urged to submit audition videos before May 5.
A spokeswoman for the organisation said this year’s show, Magic of the Musicals 2, will “deliver a stylish take on some of the best-loved moments from musicals with current showstoppers, old classics and lovely show tunes”.
The production will feature a combination of big choreographed production numbers and stand-alone songs from a variety of Broadway hits.
The organisation hopes to cast an adult ensemble, teen ensemble and children’s chorus.
“Initial auditions will be a video audition and must be submitted by May 5 along with a headshot and the audition form,” the spokeswoman said.
“The video audition submission can be any song, but it is advised that an instrumental backing track is used. If assistance is needed for the video audition, please indicate on the audition form or e-mail gandsaudition@gmail.com to be sent a sign-up genius link to organise a recording time on May 4.”
The link for the audition form can be found on the organisation’s Instagram page, @gandsbermuda and Facebook page.
Call-backs including a dance audition will take place on the weekend of May 17, with rehearsals scheduled to begin on August 19.
The performance itself is scheduled to run from October 3 to 12 at the Earl Cameron Theatre.
