Man fined for making gun gesture
A man who made a gun gesture at a police officer has been fined $600.
Lequan Outerbridge, 30, admitted making the gesture when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Outerbridge, from Devonshire, made the gesture and shouted “pop, pop, pop” at the officer while she was issuing parking tickets in Hamilton in September 2022.
Outerbridge told senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson that he apologised to the officer the day after the incident.
Ms Anderson called Outerbridge’s actions “unacceptable … particularly with all these shootings going on”, and fined him for the offence.
