Communications and electricity watchdog highlights role
The supervising body for Bermuda's electronic communications and submarine communication cables as well as the electricity and fuel sectors has launched a publicity campaign about its work.
The independent Regulatory Authority of Bermuda’s 4Bermuda drive emphasises its mandate to champion fair competition, protect consumer rights, promote economic development and encourage innovation and investment.
Details can be found on the RA’s website.
The authority was created in 2011 under sweeping reforms to Bermuda’s telecommunications industry.
Donn Foggo, the director of communications and stakeholder engagement, said the campaign showcased the RA’s “integral role” in ensuring transparency, accountability and sustainable development.
Richard Ambrosio, the interim chief executive, said the RA was "proud to be a part of Bermuda's story“ and committed to making a positive difference.
The 4Bermuda campaign was said to be aimed at educating the community on the RA’s role as “a steward of progression and protection”.
