Jason North celebrates as karting champions crowned

Jason North leads the way

The champions have been crowned at the conclusion of the Bermuda Karting Club National Championships.

Among those celebrating was Jason North, who successfully retained his title in the highly competitive L206 Senior class after amassing a total of 1,105 points to prevail over Marc Tucker (913pts) in the final standings. Completing the podium places was Robert Wheatley with a total of 859 points.

The closest battle for supremacy came in the Honda Shifter class with just six points separating the top two drivers as Shannon Caisey came out on top with 886 points, edging rival Jason Correia. The duo were comfortably clear of the rest of the field as Jason DeCouto claimed third place with 732 points.

There was also a tight tussle in the KZ Shifter class, with Ryan Rebello (943pts) pipping Blake Horseman (929pts) to top spot. Stephen Corrado rounded out the podium with 781 points.

David Barbosa proved to be in a class of his own to claim the L206 Masters title with a total of 954 points, well ahead of nearest rival Richard Walker-Talbot (705pts). Third-placed Chris Bonard was a further 316 points adrift.

There was another dominant display in the Tag Senior class as Brian Bulhoes took top honours with a commanding tally of 948 points, more than 200 ahead of second-placed William Dunkley (738pts) and a further 116 clear of Jayden Brimmer (622pts) in third.

Another driver showing his pedigree was Tanner Correia, who clinched the Junior Cadet class title with an impressive total of 1,010 points. Syah Pedro finished runner-up with 867 points, with Sadie Hocking rounding out the top-three finishers on 676.

Roman Wilkinson triumphed in the Tag Junior class as he held off stiff competition from Jonah Moniz to win with a total 918 points. There was also cause for celebration for Lucas Flood (712pts), who claimed third ahead of Hunter Borland (662pts).
