Bermudian to be honoured at prestigious gala

A Bermudian is to be honoured at a prestigious gala in Atlanta where professionals and influencers who have made significant contributions in their fields will be recognised.

Jodi Covington will be lauded when the Caribbean American Cultural Arts Foundation holds its sixth annual Captains of Industry Gala, themed “Celebrating the Diaspora”.

She is the chief executive of The Brand Development Group, a marketing, PR, web development, graphic design and event management business.

The gala is the signature fundraising event for CACAF and was designed to support youth arts education scholarships for high school and college students.

With a fundraising goal of $100,000, this year's event aims to provide scholarships to more than 100 students, helping them to pursue their academic and artistic dreams.

Michael Thomas, the founder of CACAF, said: “We are thrilled to host the sixth annual Captains of Industry Gala, celebrating the diverse talents and contributions of professionals from the diaspora.

“This year’s theme highlights the vibrant culture and excellence displayed across our community while raising vital funds to support our youth arts education programmes.”

The gala will take place on June 22 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta.
