Lindo’s to Lindo’s raises $26,103 for charity
More than $26,000 was raised for the Bermuda Diabetes Association through an annual race and charity walk.
A statement said the 25th Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K event on March 3 raised $26,103 for the organisation.
Zach Moniz, manager at Lindo’s supermarket, said the company was “delighted to have raised $26,000 this year for BDA, who do such important work for the health of Bermudians” and “looks forward to the next 25 years”.
Lori Rockhead, executive director of the charity, said the funds raised would “significantly impact our efforts to prevent diabetes and support people living with diabetes in Bermuda.
“With these funds, we plan to expand our screening programmes, focusing not only on diabetes prevention but also on preventing diabetes complications.
“Free screenings provide prevention and early detection which improve health outcomes.
“Providing the screenings for free is one of the ways in which the Bermuda Diabetes Association contributes to equitable access to healthcare for everyone."
