Woman denies dishonestly receiving funds

A woman was accused of dishonestly receiving more than $40,000 from the Argus Group.

Cheiri Palmer, 53, denied obtaining the money through a bank deposit when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.

The funds, which totalled $40,442.80, were said in the charge to be intended as a death benefit meant to go to another person.

Ms Palmer, from Warwick, also denied falsifying an Argus payment form and planning to present it as genuine.

All offences allegedly happened between July 18 and 22, 2022.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case to June 24 and released Ms Palmer on $10,000 bail.
