Teenager charged with shooting

A teenager was charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with shooting at a person with a firearm.

Kentaro Bean, 18, was also charged with discharging a bullet from the firearm and having the weapon and ammunition without a licence.

It was alleged that the offences happened on May 2.

Mr Bean was not required to enter pleas during the court appearance as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to the July arraignment session and released Mr Bean on $50,000 bail with a like surety.

Ms Anderson also ordered Mr Bean to be placed on 24-hour house arrest, not to contact any witnesses and to be fitted with an electronic monitoring device.
