Man admits having double-bladed weapon

A man who was found with a double-bladed knife will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court in July.

Shamar Fisher, 24, admitted having the weapon when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that police stopped Fisher along Parsons Road on December 14 while doing a routine search.

Questioned by officers, Fisher, from Pembroke, admitted having the folding knife and was taken to Hamilton Police Station, where the weapon was seized.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered that a social inquiry report be written for Fisher and adjourned the case to July 11 for sentencing. Fisher was released on bail until that time.
