Bermuda’s young sailors take on Race to the Rock
Some of Bermuda’s talented young sailors will be racing on the open seas next week.
Sailors aged between 9 and 15 will be taken by barge, along with their boats, to Northrock beacon, where the Race to the Rock begins.
The 11.5 mile event is being held to support the Bermuda Dinghy Association (BODA), a registered charity that supports the training and competition needs of young sailors on island.
While the youngsters are giving back to the organisation, the race can be demanding in certain conditions and potentially the longest they have ever encountered with up to six hours spent out of the water.
