Upcoming road closures and lane restrictions
There will be a series of lane closures and lane restrictions in Pembroke and Southampton from Friday.
The Ministry of Public Works advised of sewer and Belco trenchwork as well as a closure for the Outerbridge Building demolition.
Serpentine Road near Woodlands Road, Pembroke
Road closure for sewer trenchworks.
There will be a road closure on Serpentine Road from the Oxygen Limited driveway to the Woodlands Road roundabout in Pembroke. This closure is necessary to facilitate sewer trenchwork.
• Closure dates: June 7 to 10
• Working hours: 5pm on Friday to noon on Monday
Camp Hill near Middle Road, Southampton
Lane closure for Belco trenchwork.
There will be a single-lane closure on Camp Hill near Middle Road in Southampton to allow for Belco trenchwork.
• Closure dates: June 10 to 14
• Working hours: 7.30am to 5pm daily
Belco representatives will manage traffic using barricades, stop and go signs, and cones. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and follow the traffic controllers' directions.
Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke
Lane closure for Outerbridge Building demolition.
There will be a single-lane closure near 75 Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke for the demolition of the Outerbridge Building.
• Closure dates: June 12 to August 9
• Working hours: 9.30am to 5pm daily
To accommodate westbound traffic, the north lane into town will be closed and parking will be prohibited in the south lane out of town.
Speaking about roadworks on Serpentine Lane to Woodburn Avenue from Friday until Monday, the spokesman said: “Traffic control will be under the direction of Island Construction representatives with barricades and cones.
“Motorists are advised to avoid this junction by using detour routes in the west via Ferrar's Lane, Cemetery Road, Rosemont Avenue or Pitts Bay Road, and in the east by using detour routes via Par-la-Ville Road, Woodlands Rd and St John's Road.
“Access to Bermuda High School through this area will be granted on Monday morning. Motorists are advised to travel through the area with care.”

Regarding a lane closure on Camp Hill in Southampton, the spokesman said traffic control will be under the direction of Belco representatives with barricades, stop and go signs, and cones.
The spokesman said: “Motorists are advised to avoid this junction by using detour routes in the west via Lighthouse Road and in the east via Khyber Pass.
“Motorists who wish to traverse through Camp Hill should expect delays and must travel with care.”

For a lane closure on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke, traffic control will be under the direction of D&J Construction representatives with barricades, stop and go signs, and cones.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area by using detour routes in the west via Rosemont Avenue and in the east via Woodbourne Avenue. Those who travel through Pitts Bay Road should expect delays and must go with care to avoid pedestrians.
