Parents urged to sign up children for summer camps
Parents were urged to sign their children up for out-of-school programmes being held in August.
The Government’s Office of Youth Affairs has organised six themed summer day programmes for pupils from preschool to middle school levels.
The Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, Tinée Furbert, said: “The programmes are a great option for parents and guardians in need of affordable summer camps.
“The variety of activities on offer is sure to engage and inspire children interested in the creative, academic and athletic fields in preparation for the next academic school year.”
The programmes will be held at the Sammy Wilson Central Zone Community Centre, on Angle Street, Pembroke; Western Zone Community Centre, on Kitchener Close, Sandys; and the Eastern Zone Community Centre, on Old Military Road, St George’s.
The programmes will be held from 8am to 6pm for three weeks from August 5 to August 23 and the weekly cost is two government childcare vouchers or $60 per child.
Registration will open tomorrowat 9am.
The programmes are: DIY Jewellery 101, Artastic (art), Wild ‘N Out (nature), Play It All (sports), Game Changers (leadership) and Fundamentals, which is specifically designed for children who have completed preschool to P2.
