Five local college students will complete the 25 who have been selected for the fifth annual CG Summer Internship Programme, which aims to foster the next generation of insurance professionals throughout the Caribbean region, under the guidance of CG Insurance professionals.

The programme began this month and runs until August.

The Bermuda interns and their fields of interest are Riley Jackson (marketing), Amelia Othman (risk management), Airez Gilbert-Simons (finance), Isabella White (wellness) and Zariah Simmons-Smith (P&C).

Interns are also selected in Cayman, Bahamas, Barbados and Trinidad for the educational ten-week journey, which focuses on practical professional skills, in-depth industry knowledge and exploratory career paths.

A CG Insurance statement said: “A unique feature of the CG Summer Internship Programme is a group project that unites interns from various territories, fostering collaboration and providing a platform for interns to present their collective results directly to the CG executive team.

“This aspect of the programme not only enhances real-life presentation skills but also strengthens inter-regional connections among the participants.”

The programme offers a community day for the interns.

CG said: “Through active volunteering, interns embody the spirit of service, reinforcing CG’s core values.

“In addition, the interns have access to mentors, a series of information sessions on critical topics like cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and personal career development.

“This comprehensive approach ensures interns receive a well-rounded experience, further augmented by a competitive compensation package, adding a real-world dimension to their learning journey.”

CEO Naz Farrow commented: “At CG, we believe in the power of investing in our future through the bright minds of local students. By providing a nurturing environment, guided by our experienced professionals, we are committed to the professional growth and development of our interns.

"This programme is a reflection of our belief in creating opportunities that not only benefit our interns but also contribute to the broader community."
