Mosaic welcomes summer interns
Two Bermudians are among five university students joining Mosaic Insurance’s fourth summer internship programme.
The Bermudian-based global specialty insurer has placed the students across business lines in the Bermuda, London, New York and Chicago offices.
Marley Saggar has joined as communications-marketing and strategy intern in Hamilton.
Fellow Bermudian Jessica Bruton is in London, one of three who will support Mosaic’s cyber division, its fastest-growing line of business.
Isabelle Elliott-Hanson joins the company’s financial institutions underwriting team in London.
The company said Mr Saggar, a student at Seneca College in Toronto, is on track to graduate next spring with a bachelor of commerce degree with a focus in marketing management.
At Mosaic, he shadows underwriters, supports the analytics and communications-marketing teams, monitors social and website metrics, and develops content and PR. His special focus projects include market research and logistical planning for a new corporate matching-gift initiative.
“Being able to work in a global insurer during its early years of business is an amazing opportunity I could not pass up,” said Mr Saggar. “Having access to industry professionals and their expertise in the various specialty lines Mosaic offers is extremely rewarding and a great foundation for my career.”
Ms Bruton is a graduate of Cheltenham Ladies College in England, and recently completed her first year at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, studying global development with a minor in politics.
Mosaic said she is working closely with underwriters, attending meetings, updating quote sheets, and taking part in training sessions related to the sector’s tech E&O product coverage.
Mosaic’s chief of staff, Lisa Fontanetta, noted: “As well as learning the basics of their divisions, they’re able to experience life inside a developing global company, learning first-hand from senior leadership.”
