Work to repair potholes at the bottom of Collectors Hill is under way, temporarily limiting traffic in the area.

Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, the Minister of Public Works, said paving work began on Monday as part of a joint operation between the paving and construction sections of the Department of Works and Engineering.

“We understand the frustration residents have experienced due to the potholes in this area,” Colonel Burch said.

“Addressing these concerns has been a priority, and I am pleased that we are able to respond effectively.”

As part of the project, workers will pave Collectors Hill from Cotswold Lane to the junction with South Road and South Road between the Rotisserie parking lot to the bus lay-by near Cloverdale Road.

Workers will also carry out repairs to the kerb, storm drain and sidewalk on the southern side of the road, install a new CCTV camera pole and redo road markings.

Colonel Burch added: “This paving work is part of our broader plan to improve road conditions across the island.

“Over the coming months, we will be paving more areas around the Island to ensure safer and smoother journeys for all road users.

“We appreciate the public's patience and co-operation as we carry out these essential works.”
