Health minister and daughter join BHB Heartsaver course
A Cabinet minister and her daughter developed life-saving skills at an event run by the Bermuda Hospitals Board.
Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, took part in Heartsaver CPR [Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation] and AED [Automated External Defibrillator] training, in celebration of CPR AED awareness last week.
She was joined by her daughter Niara Simmons.
Ms Wilson, said: “The CPR and AED training equips us with valuable life-saving skills and instils a sense of preparedness and confidence in handling emergencies.”
The minister added that she and her daughter were “prepared to respond effectively in critical situations, and potentially save a life”.
She added: “Whether you're a healthcare professional, a parent, a teacher or just a concerned citizen, having the skills to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies can significantly improve someone's chance of survival.
“CPR AED training is indeed essential and highly recommended for everyone.”
