Albert Benchimol joins Aegon board

Veteran insurance executive Albert Benchimol has been elected as a new non-executive director of the board of Aegon Ltd, the international financial services holding company that has changed its legal seat to Bermuda.
Mr Benchimol, formerly the president and chief executive of Axis Capital Holdings, was elected at Aegon’s annual general meeting of shareholders in Bermuda.
Also at the AGM, Lard Friese was re-elected as executive director of the board, and Corien Wortmann-Kool, Caroline Ramsay and Thomas Wellauer were each re-elected as non-executive directors.
Aegon’s portfolio of businesses includes fully-owned subsidiaries in the United States, Britain and a global asset manager.
