The executive committee of the Institute of Directors Ltd has appointed Michelle Cardwell as the new executive director, a position she will hold until their next annual general meeting.

Ms Cardwell has been active with the IoD Bermuda since 2015, serving on the executive committee as a membership director and as a past chairwoman.

The organisation said she has successfully completed both the certificate in company direction and the diploma in company direction, two of the key certifications it offers.

Ms Cardwell said she and the executive committee remain focused on IoD Bermuda’s core services, including professional development courses and certifications through the Institute of Directors London branch and the promotion of good corporate and non-profit governance in Bermuda.

“I believe the education and advocacy we provide is important to Bermuda’s community, both for businesses and non-profit organisations,” says Ms Cardwell. “We provide internationally recognised certifications that ensure best practices at the board level.”

The new executive committee for the current term is Gavin Bishop, chairman; Megan Nesbit, treasurer; Pearline McIntosh, secretary; and members Duncan Card, Ronnie Viera, Shivani Seth, Natalie Miller, Satjivan Aujla, Tanya Franks, and Delores Graham.

Members who recently completed their certificate in company direction certification are Allan Wayne Smith, Samuel Butler, Richard Ambrosio, Gillian McCann, Caroline Kompasch, Krista Barnes, Amanda Kisala, Michael Walsh, Dipak Varsani, and Ms Seth.
