Would we go to church in a bikini?

Dear Sir,

I am in agreement with Antony Siese. Beach attire does not belong in any of our towns or on our public transport. I’ve seen bikinis. Who wants to put their bare skin on public seats any way? Really?

I’ve seen locals doing it. They know we are more than a beaching community, and that we have standards. So it’s not just the tourists doing it.

It’s not about being ashamed of one’s body by covering up. It’s about honouring one’s body, showing you value your body, being responsible and protecting your body.

Would it hurt to think of families that may be in these places with small children? Would it hurt to throw a top over your bathing suit to show respect for others?

Next I would expect for people to come to church that way because they are on their way to the beach afterwards. We have to set limits.

Now before you say, “come as you are”, that means with all your sins, not your attire.

Remember it takes only one small stitch to come undone, to unravel a whole sweater. So, yes, the little stuff does count in the fabric that makes up our tiny island.
