Devonshire cycle race to affect traffic on Sunday
A cycle race on this Sunday will have an impact on traffic in Devonshire, the Ministry of Public Works said today.
The Bermuda Bicycle Association race will start at the Prospect Police Headquarters on Fort Hill Road at 8am.
Cyclists will turn left and proceed on Middle Road until the intersection with North Shore Road.
They will then head west along North Shore Road and turn left onto Blackwatch Pass.
The riders will then turn left onto Marsh Folly Road and continue along Palmetto Road until the roundabout and exit at Frog Lane.
They will exit onto BFA Way near CedarBridge Lane, turn right onto Headquarters Hill, and end at the finish line in front of the Prospect Police Headquarters.
No roads will be closed to traffic for the race, which is scheduled to finish by 10.30am.
The ministry urged divers to be cautious to avoid race participants.
Motorists should follow the instructions of police officers and race marshals.
The ministry added: “The Commissioner of Police is hereby authorised to close off streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
Questions about the race can be directed to race representative Peter Dunne on 704-8614.
